In Dec. 1, 2012, 12 members of BNUZ UK Alumni Association returned to their Alma Mater-----Beijing Normal University, Zhuhai. They met with BNUZ leadership and shared their experiences regarding study abroad with students and faculty at BNUZ. Prof. TANG Wei, party secretary of BNUZ and president of BNUZ Alumni Association, Prof. FU Ailan, vice president of BNUZ and vice president of BNUZ Alumni Association and other leadership representatives as well as faculty attended the activities.
In the afternoon of December 1, representaitives of BNUZ leadership held a tea party with UK alumni. Members of BNUZ UK Alumni Association introduced simply about the organizational structures of the association and the information regarding UK alumni’s life and study. Moreover, they also actively offered suggestions to BNUZ with reference to British education system. They hope to build up an effective platform to facilitate the tight connection between UK alumni and BNUZ and served those who are planning to study at UK.
At 7:00 pm., Dec. 1, 2012, BNUZ UK Alumni Association held sharing section at A202, Liyun Building. Prof. FU Ailan delivered a speech in the section. Firstly, Prof. FU extended her welcome and gratitude to UK alumni. Then she pointed out that, since BNUZ’s establishment, it made full use of its geographical advantages of neighboring Hong Kong and Macau, to set up the education ideal of developing talents with international perspective and cross-culture capability. Through 2+2, 3+1, mini-semester programs, exchange student programs, BNUZ offers great chances for students to develop the above ability. It is a pleasure to see our alumni to share their experiences regarding studying and living abroad. At the end of her speech, Prof. FU sent her great wishes to all alumni.
WEI Chaoming, president of UK Alumni Association introduced the association to the presented students and shared their experiences, which benefic the presented students a lot. BNUZ also presented BNU Alumni rings and souvenir to the alumni.
Established in October of 2010, the headquarters of BNUZ UK Alumni Association was set up in London, England, including 8 branches. As most of the UK alumni would return to China after finishing their study, a China Branch for UK alumni was specially set up. Currently the UK Alumni Association owns over 1000 members. Among which, over 500 is currently study and work in UK. In the past decade, with BNUZ’s international strategy and colorful study abroad programs, a lot of BNUZ students pursue their study in foreign countries. As for UK, most of the BNUZ students study their master program at famous UK universities such as University of Cambridge, Imperial College, London School of Economics, University of Warwick, University of Durham, Cass Business School, University of Bristol, University of Birmingham, Aston University. BNUZ students can be found in all Top 10 universities in UK.
