Prof. Fu Met with Vice Dean of National Film School in Lodz Poland

Prof. Andrzej Bednarek, Vice Dean of National Film School in Lodz Poland visited BNUZ. Prof. Ailan Fu, Vice president of BNUZ hosted a meeting at the International Center with him, together with Prof. Qingshan Gui, Dean of School of Arts and Communication (SAC), Prof. Yue Wang, Vice Dean of SAC, Dr. Xin Shi, and Dr. Chunyan Gan, Director of Office of International Affairs.

Prof. Fu extended her warm welcome to the visitors, and gave a brief introduction of BNUZ. Prof. Andrzej Bednarek also introduced situation of National Film School in Lodz. The two parties discussed about programs of exchange students, visiting students, postgraduate students, faculty visits and academic research. Both parties hope to reinforce communication and learn from each other through the establishment of international platform for cooperation of Production-Teaching-Research and academic research.

Introduction to National Film School in Lodz:

Founded in 1948, National Film School in Lodz was established by a group of pioneer filmmakers. Number of winners of the Oscar, Cannes Film Festival and Berlin International Film Festival are from this school. According to the ranking by Hollywood Journalists, it ranks the second in Europe and 14th in the world. Among all majors, major of director and documentation teaching are considered to be the most influential in the world, and are hailed as the cradles for the world’s top masters of cinema.

National Film School in Lodz is one of the film schools that have the most restrict enrollment. For Poland students, the enroll ratio is around 1:200. In order to guarantee the teaching quality, students major in director should hand in their homework made of films. Most of the students are from rich families, which provide them with good interpersonal relations for their development.
