On the morning of 18th December, the awarding ceremony of Guangdong provincial scholarship was held in International Center. Prof. TU Qingyun, president of BNUZ, Dr. Pansy Gan, director of Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, Dr. ZHANG Juan, vice director of Academic Office, teacher of the class of overseas students, students who gained the scholarship and overseas student representative attended the ceremony.

After screening and recommendation, three of BNUZ overseas students gained the Guangdong Provincial government scholarship, which was established last year. These three students come from the School of Chinese, MANSOR MOHAMMAD K ALMALKI from Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, SUKHROOP SINGH from India and MANSOR MOHAMMAD K ALMALKI from America.

Prof. TU first congratulated the students and encourage them to study harder and make more achievements. He talked with the students and get to know more about overseas students’ study and daily life in BNUZ. And the students also said that they would try their best to improve themselves. In the end, prof. TU awarded the certificate for the students.

The establishment of the government scholarship aims to attract more talented overseas students to study in Guangdong Province and to promote the healthy development of overseas students education in Guangdong. This year, there are 681 students from 20 universities being awarded this scholarship and BNUZ is the single private university.

The number of overseas students in BNUZ has witnessed a steady increase in the past four years. The implement of scholarship will also help to promote the international education in BNUZ.
